South Downs
Amidst the noise
There is a still point
In the curve of the hill
And the light of the sun
The chalk hills of the South Downs fringe the southern edge of my home county of Sussex.
It is a feminine landscape of soft curves and mysterious shadows. The contours of the hills are ever changing as cloud shadows skim across, hiding and revealing. Deep dark valleys come and go as the sun charts it’s course.
